Public Libraries Survey (PLS)
The Public Libraries Survey (PLS) examines when, where, and how library services are changing to meet the needs of the public. These data, supplied annually by public libraries across the country, provide information that policymakers and practitioners can use to make informed decisions about the support and strategic management of libraries.
State Library Administrative Agency Survey (SLAA)
The State Library Administrative Agency (SLAA) survey provides descriptive information about state library agencies collected annually since 1994. Since 2010, data collection occurs every two years. The data are collected over the Internet via a Web-based reporting system.
National Museum Survey (NMS)
This national survey allows IMLS to collect input from a variety of institutions, including zoos, aquariums, botanical gardens, and arboretums; nature and science centers; history museums and historic sites; art museums; children’s museums; natural history museums; and specialized museums.
Heritage Health Info Survey
The purpose of the 2014 Heritage Health Information Survey (HHIS) is to provide information about preservation and conservation practices at U.S. collecting institutions.
Public Needs for Library and Museum Services Survey
The Public Needs for Library and Museum Services (PNLMS) Survey is to determine attitudes, to assess awareness of issues related to library and museum services, and to track trends in visitation and usage.
