A platform bringing museum resources into the classroom for K-12 Educators and students

Share your digitized collections with K-12 students and teachers on MuseumsForDigitalLearning.org! Easy, teacher-vetted templates allow you to create dynamic, interactive content that is free and ready for classroom use. Museums of all sizes, types, and locations are welcome!

Museums for Digital Learning (MDL) is a collaboration of the Institute of Museums and Library Services (IMLS,) Newfields, the Field Museum, and History Colorado. The project brings together museums of various disciplines, sizes, and geographic regions to contribute to a shared digital platform offering K-12 educational resource kits developed from museum collections.

Resource kits are searchable by subject and grade, are linked to educational standards, and include activities such as narratives, slide shows, timelines, and games.

How to Participate

  1. Visit MuseumsForDigitalLearning.org and fill out the form to become a participating museum.

  2. Login and explore the onboarding articles, tutorial videos, templates, and more.

  3. Sign up for a virtual information sessions where a leading content partner will go over the back end of MDL platform. This is great for those new to the MDL platform as well as those needing a refresher. Information session are also a good place to ask questions.

  4. Email Info@MuseumsForDigitalLearning.org to ask any questions and connect with the MDL team.

The MDL team holds regular training webinars for museums who are interested in contributing content.
