IMLS FY 2019 Annual Performance Report

Washington, DC—The Institute of Museum and Library Services announced today that the agency's Annual Performance Report (APR) is now available for FY 2019. The report is an in-depth look at how IMLS aligns its strategic priorities with practice.

The APR highlights key impacts of the agency’s activities for FY 2019. Highlights from the report include:

  • The agency launched Accelerating Promising Practices for Small Libraries, a $1.2 million special funding opportunity which provides funding and mentorship to small and rural libraries to develop and implement projects addressing digital inclusion, community memory, and school library transformation.

  • IMLS collaborated with the New York Hall of Science to expand the scope and scale of Maker/STEM Education Support for 21st Century Community Learning Centers with a $1.9 million financial contribution from the US Department of Education.

  • The agency organized two national events to support the needs of tribal communities: a summit on broadband access, and a cultural preservation convening.

For more information about IMLS’s activities in FY 2019, the full report is available on the IMLS website.
