Log Number: ST-256872-OMS-24

Drexel University will conserve Civil War-related material from the Atwater Kent Collection, which was previously in the collection of the former Philadelphia History Museum. Project activities will include conserving and stabilizing over 600 drawings by Francis H. Schell, preserving a collection of eight paintings and painted objects by David Bustill Bowser, and conserving a historic American flag from the Perry Expedition. The institution will hire new staff for the project, and staff will work with consultants to assist with conservation and preservation efforts. As a result of the project, conserved objects will be available to educators, students, and other museums for academic and public research purposes.
