Plimoth Patuxet Museums
Log Number: ST-255000-OMS-23
Plimoth Patuxet Museums will conserve the Mayflower II, a full-scale reproduction of a 17th century merchant vessel, designed by naval architect William Avery Baker and constructed from 1955 to 1957. The vessel will travel from Plymouth, Massachusetts to Mystic, Connecticut, where it will receive conservation work from staff of the Mystic Seaport Museum, including cleaning, painting, and repairing the seams of the vessel. Informed by a preservation plan for the long-term maintenance of the vessel, restoration activities will mitigate damages caused by the environment.
