Arhoolie Foundation

The Arhoolie Foundation will preserve its collection of materials related to the founder of Arhoolie Records, Chris Strachwitz (1931–2023). The collection is comprised of approximately 500 posters, and 700 audiovisual recordings documenting the history of Arhoolie Records. Project activities will include prioritizing materials for digitization, developing digitization standards, processing, digitization, and identifying a digital asset management system for online delivery of the collection. Anticipated outcomes of this project include a detailed finding aid, a collection inventory, rehousing, and plans for digitization and a digital asset management system.
