The Colburn School

The Colburn School will improve the care, preservation, and accessibility of the Herbert and Trudl Zipper Archive, The Zippers were Austrian-born immigrants to the United States, renowned as innovative performing artists and teachers who made a deep impact on the classical music, dance, and education fields. The project will improve the school’s intellectual control over the collection by creating artifact descriptions and a finding aid. The project team will digitize and rehouse a majority of the collection, which contributes to the nation’s history of classical music education and modern dance, as well as Holocaust history and the Jewish immigrant story.
