Naval War College Museum

The Naval War College Foundation will use funds to conduct an inventory, catalog, conserve, and digitize their materials. The collection is reflective of the United States’ rich military history and contains more than 350 manuscript collections; 500 oral history interviews; 4,000 volumes in the rare books collection dating from the sixteenth century to the present; and 600 letters, journals, letterpress volumes, certificates, and commissions. For the project, the institution will hire a collections specialist to lead the project and supervise paid college interns.  Project staff will update information about the collections in the collections database and make information accessible online for use by scholars, researchers, students, historians, and the public.
