National Building Museum

The National Building Museum will improve the care and accessibility of its architectural toy collection, which was donated to the museum in 2006. The collection includes iconic toys such as Lincoln Logs, Erector Sets, Tinker Toys, and LEGO bricks; rarer and less familiar toys from around the globe; and examples featuring specific buildings or building types, such as skyscrapers and suburban homes. Project activities will include a comprehensive conservation assessment, cataloguing, cleaning, conservation, rehousing, and digitization of approximately 2,300 objects in the collection, ultimately making them available to the public for display and research.
