Log Number: ST-252528-OMS-22

The Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) will use funds to restore and re-assemble the sculpture, "Golden Dandelions," created by the world-renowned artist Harry Bertoia. The Eastman Kodak Company commissioned the sculpture to be the centerpiece of a fountain at the main entrance to its pavilion at the 1964 New York World's Fair. After moving the sculpture to RIT, it became severely deteriorated over time in an outdoor environment and it currently remains unassembled and in storage. Conservators will thoroughly assess and restore damage, recreate missing elements, develop a new base, and provide for its display in a prominent indoor setting on campus, which will ensure its longevity.
