Alaska Native Heritage Center

The Alaska Native Heritage Center will improve the storage and display of its collection to mitigate the risk of degradation to the collection caused by environmental fluctuations. The collection represents a broad and unique scope of Indigenous peoples from around the State of Alaska and comprises approximately 3,500 items, including photographs, books, film, video, audio, and over 1,000 works of art. For the project, staff will purchase display cases and archival materials to improve and control the environmental condition of collection objects. As a result of the project, staff will be able to securely display and interpret objects in public exhibitions.
