Carpenters Historic Hall
Log Number: ST-252511-OMS-22
The Carpenters’ Company will use funds to conserve 15 key volumes from its historic library collections. The volumes were purchased and referenced by early members of the Carpenters’ Company, who worked to build the city of Philadelphia in the colonial and Federal periods. The collection consists of approximately 200 volumes chronicling historical design and architecture in the 18th and 19th centuries. For the project, staff will work with a conservation team to produce condition reports and treatment plans for objects. Once treatment of the volumes is completed, staff will update collection records and stabilized volumes will be utilized for future research purposes.
