Nevada Northern Railway Foundation

The Nevada Northern Railway Foundation will improve the long-term preservation of its business records. The project team will renovate the storage space housing the records of the railroad, primarily through installation of compact shelving, in addition to organizing and rehousing the archival materials. The collection includes conductor’s reports, purchasing and accounting ledgers, commissary records, dispatcher’s books, blueprints, correspondence, accident reports, maps, and timetables. The collection represents a comprehensive resource for the study of the railroad industry in the U.S. in the twentieth century, as well as the stories of the individuals who worked for it by encompassing the whole history of the Nevada railroad--from planning to technological changes to its eventual dissolution.
