Log Number: ST-251087-OMS-21
The Friends of the Texas Historical Commission will improve the collections care and intellectual control of archaeological material excavated from the Mission Dolores State Historical Site, which sits atop land with a 300-year occupational history dating back to the first quarter of the 18th century. The project team will conduct a comprehensive inventory and assessment of existing collections and process and rehouse excavated materials and records. Additional activities will include documenting, stabilizing, and/or conserving metals artifacts that are currently in the process of active degradation and conducting flotation and macro-botanical/micro-botanical analysis on unanalyzed soil samples. The project will expand public and research accessibility to the collections by enabling search functionality via collections management software.
