Duke University
Log Number: RE-87-18-0081-18
Duke University, on behalf of the Triangle Research Libraries (Duke, North Carolina Central, North Carolina State, and UNC-Chapel Hill), will develop and pilot a three-day institute on copyright in academic and research libraries. The institute will be designed to train librarians in copyright fundamentals, develop competencies in copyright limitations and exceptions such as fair use, and complete hands-on training in the application of copyright to specific areas of librarianship. The institute will leverage the knowledge, experience, and education of library copyright experts to raise the level of library copyright expertise across U.S. libraries, especially at institutions that are not able to support a dedicated staff member devoted full-time to copyright.
