To address the continuing need for professional librarians in rural areas, Valley City State University (VCSU) will use its grant to offer scholarships for 15 master's degree candidates in the VCSU online Library and Information Technologies Master of Education (M.ED./LIT) concentration. In addition, the grant will allow the university to offer four face-to-face summer institutes within the M.Ed./LIT program, providing full tuition scholarships for up to 120 students, librarian mentors, and faculty to meet for on-site field experiences, professional collaboration, and training in 21st century library leadership skills.
