KY Department for Libraries and Archives (Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives)

The Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives, in partnership with the University of Kentucky School of Information Science and the Kentucky Public Library Association, will create and deliver leadership development training for library personnel and library trustees and board members. This project will address critical knowledge gaps and equip library personnel and board members with the skills to confidently navigate their responsibilities. Designed to cater to the diverse needs of library professionals and trustees at various stages of their careers, the course will offer three distinct learning tracks: Foundational Leadership, Advanced Leadership, and Library Governance. An online toolkit will be created to house a variety of training materials, including a Leadership Development Handbook and a State Leadership Program Development Guide to assist other state libraries in replicating the program.
