Curators of The University Of Missouri (School of Information Science and Learning Technologies)

The University of Missouri, in partnership with Emporia State University, University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and Kansas City Public Library, will host a two-day national forum that brings together experts in addiction recovery, bibliotherapy, and community outreach with library staff to expand libraries’ roles in alcohol use disorder and substance use disorder recovery through reading, bibliotherapy, and peer-to-peer learning circles. The outcome of the forum will be a white paper and toolkit for implementing programming in public libraries that addresses alcohol use disorder and substance use disorder through programs that provide both social support and information access to promote positive life changes.
