University of Pittsburgh (University of Pittsburgh, Department of Library and Information Science)
Log Number: RE-254899-OLS-23
The University of Pittsburgh Libraries, the University of Pittsburgh School of Computing and Information, and the Western Pennsylvania Regional Data Center will implement a civic data literacy institute for libraries. The target audience for this project is library workers in any type of library role and based in all types of libraries. The project activities include workshop design and planning; workshop and community of practice facilitation and assessment; and refinement and expansion of the Civic Data Education Series (previously funded by IMLS). Through the workshops and community of practice, library workers will develop, iterate, and share civic data services and roles for their libraries, growing the prevalence of libraries as civic data intermediaries in the library and information and science field and strengthening regional networks.
