Arizona State University (Arizona State University Library)
Log Number: RE-252389-OLS-22
The Arizona State University Library will help develop the next generation of community archivists by establishing the Community Archivist Fellowship Program for Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) currently attending community and Tribal colleges. The project team will develop a curriculum and recruit two cohorts of fellows, provide them with community-based archives training, and help them complete a one-year service learning project to be shared at a symposium at the end of the fellowship. The project team will share findings at conferences and create an online toolkit for library and archives professionals and institutions that will contain all project resources. The fellowship program will improve the educational pathway for minority communities, help to diversify archival collections, and serve as a model for other academic institutions who aim to promote inclusion in higher education.
