Heritage Preservation
Log Number: RE-06-11-0099-11
A large percentage of the nation’s unique and rare materials are held in trust for the American public by cultural heritage organizations that lack the resources for ongoing professional development for their staffs. Heritage Preservation will conduct a series of eight structured webinars and create an online community to help the staff of smaller libraries and archives improve care of their special collections, prepare for emergencies, and expand their public outreach. The content of the highly interactive webinars will be based on resources developed through IMLS’s Connecting to Collections national initiative. Through these webinars and the related online community, this professional development project will help ensure that these valuable resources are available to be used in libraries and archives nationwide. The webinars will be offered free of charge and will be archived for ongoing, free public access.
