The HistoryMakers Archives

The HistoryMakers will recruit, train, and place 12 library school graduates in a one-year fellowship program for those interested in African American archival collections. The program will begin with an intensive three-month training institute at the HistoryMakers followed by a nine-month residency at a host institution. Fellows will be trained in archival descriptive practices and standards; receive hands-on experience processing, preserving and providing access to African American collections; and plan public programs. Fellows will be matched with a mentor.
