Building upon recent IMLS-funded projects at other institutions, the College of Information and the Libraries at the University of North Texas (UNT) will collaborate to build and deliver a post-master’s Graduate Academic Certificate in Digital Curation and Data Management. In addition to curriculum development, it will also craft an online environment populated with educational tools designed to foster active experimentation and discovery learning on the part of students. The project seeks to build UNT’s capacity to increase the number of appropriately trained information professionals and disciplinary researchers to care for the nation’s burgeoning digital collections, especially research data. Fifteen students will be provided with partial scholarships. In addition, one master's student and three PhD students will receive support for performing grant-related activities.
