The Kent State School of Library and Information Science, Case Western Reserve University Libraries, and the Cleveland Art Museum are partnering with nineteen academic and special libraries to recruit undergraduate college students. Project goals are to attract minorities to the library profession and to direct good candidates to particular subject areas (e.g., art, health sciences, music) with shortages of qualified people. This project is expected to produce an effective, professionally developed recruitment plan and a curriculum designed to introduce undergraduates to librarianship and provide a structured and supervised library workplace experience. The project will reach an estimated 72 participants.
