Long Island University-Palmer School and its partners, the University of Nebraska-Omaha, and Old Dominion University, will use its grant on a project to prepare doctoral candidates with an interest in school library doctoral studies to become leaders in the school library field or at the university level. There is a critical need to provide content-specific curriculum for the next wave of school library university professors and leaders in this field, as no curriculum exists at the present time. The members of the partnership have developed curricula for four online doctoral level courses providing instruction in the area of school librarianship. The universities will form a cohort of not more than 21 candidates who will be admitted to the Ph.D. or Ed.D. programs at their institutions.
