McDaniel College

Addressing the critical shortage of school librarians in underserved Maryland regions, the school library program of McDaniel College, partnering with the Maryland State Department of Education, will use its grant to recruit 12 teachers (or other currently employed school professionals) to receive full scholarships for Master’s degrees in school library media. Recipients will also receive funding to attend three conferences of the Maryland Association of School Librarians (MASL). The 2010 ALA/AASL Standards for Initial Programs for School Librarian Preparation will be embedded into the coursework.
