The University of Michigan School of Information, along with its partners -- the Center for Research Libraries, the Florida Center for Library Automation, the LOCKSS program at Stanford University, the Northeast Document Conservation Center, OCLC, Smithsonian Institution Archives, Safe Sound Archive, the Inter-university Consortium for Social and Political Research (ICPSR), and the University of Michigan Libraries -- will provide 30 digital curation/preservation administration summer internships to Master’s in Library Science students over three years, and perform curriculum development to encourage the ongoing exchange between real-world practice and the classroom. This project seeks to address the growing need for more professionals to manage and preserve the nation’s ever-increasing amounts of digital information.
