Log Number: RE-01-06-0021-06

The University of Arizona School of Information Resources and Library Science will partner with Arizona State Library, Archives and Public Records to increase the number of librarians with master’s degrees serving Arizona’s rural communities. Funding will provide 25 or more full fellowships to Master of Library Science candidates representing the diversity of the communities served. The availability of distance education and newly relaxed residency requirements at the University of Arizona permit candidates to earn their degrees while serving as staff members or interns in small and rural libraries. Upon graduation, candidates are expected to work with rural or underserved populations in Arizona.
