Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa

This Basic grant has three focus areas, including making the library more available to the community and increasing its use during the school year. This will be accomplished by adding a part-time Library Assistant 12 hours per week. The Education Director will then be able to schedule library hours at times when children, parents, students and Elders are more available to visit. Second, Elders will receive stipends during select special events for sharing stories, language and culture with the children at the library. Third, in order to increase the credibility and operations of the library, the Education Director will take two courses toward State Library Director Certification and attend the Lake Superior Libraries Symposium.
