Native Village of Chignik Lagoon

The Native Village of Chignik Lagoon Library in Chignik Lagoon, Alaska will preserve local history of its population and community. The library will continue to employ a part time library aide for general maintenance of library duties and preservation of cultural items. The library will keep cultural and resource binders updated and easily accessible for teachers, students, and the community. A Library Aide will continue work with Alutiiq cultural teachers and continue to work on cultural activities to preserve all local and Alaska Native cultures. Bringing back culture to the community not only unites the people of Chignik Lagoon but teaches the next generation or their Supiaq-Alutiiq cultural and local Chignik history.
