Village of Aniak

The Village of Aniak will support a librarian and library aide to sustain and enhance core library services for its remote community. Staff will focus on improving electronic access, providing free Wi-Fi, and expanding resources such as laptops, tablets, books, and media. They will also place special emphases on fostering literacy among youth through a summer reading program and offering materials relevant to rural Alaska and tribal issues. Expected outcomes include increased library usage and engagement, particularly among young readers, contributing to community development and enrichment. The project will provide direct benefit to the 526 tribal citizens within its project service area.
