Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians

The Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians’ Heritage Library will focus on providing and maintaining existing library services for the community. Grants funds will continue to provide opportunities for people to access and use electronic information, promote community interaction and inclusion, and deliver a mix of resources, activities, and services designed to benefit their patrons. Grant funds will also be used towards purchases that will increase and replenish books, resources and collections of materials relating to the Native American communities and the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians. Specifically, purchases include periodicals, subscriptions, educational materials, and children’s books. These book and resource purchases will will provide direct benefit to its community, as they will be based on community members' interests and ongoing research by library staff throughout the project year.
