Ho-Chunk Nation of Wisconsin

The Ho-Chunk Nation of Wisconsin did not have an operational library prior to 2023, thus grant funds will enhance their educational resources and remote learning opportunities, promote literacy, and inspire members of their community to become lifelong learners. Library staff will be growing their collections of native authored books for youth aged kindergarten through grade 12, as well as for adults. Dedicated library space will be provided for members of the community who may choose to complete their art projects such as painting, sewing, crafting, and carving. Funds will also be used to purchase periodicals and subscriptions, and to accommodate their growing book collections by adding new shelving, and purchasing additional resources such as office supplies, etc.
