Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria

The Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria (FIGR) will purchase archival and library supplies, a 3D scanner, and a dedicated laptop computer to begin digitizing tangible objects and making them available to Tribal Citizens. Digitizing the Tribe’s vast collection of culturally significant materials supports core library operations in the service of making collections materials appropriately accessible. Scanning the objects in 3D allows options for future viewing, while handling the original artifacts according to tradition, and ensuring that cultural artifacts are only displayed with the permission of Elder’s or culture bearers. The project will provide direct benefit to over 1,400 tribal citizens within its project service area.
