Native Village of Afognak

The Nadia Mullan Alutiiq Heritage Library will increase the collection of materials relating to the Tribe, the Alutiiq language and culture, as well as other Tribes in Alaska and throughout the United States. The library will also facilitate interactive cultural activities that provide participants with hands-on activities connecting them to the Alutiiq language, crafts, culture, or experiences. The library will purchase additional books and library materials, ensure communication with patrons, provide cultural education materials, and provide support library staff wages. The project will provide direct benefit to the 801 enrolled tribal members and nearly 3,400 Alaska Natives in the Kodiak Alutiiq Nation within the project service area.
