Morongo Band of Mission Indians

The Morongo Band of Mission Indians will create and publish an introduction to the Serrano language. Currently, no easily accessible books exist for teaching the Serrano language and the volumes would serve as an important resource for the Morongo community. A portion of funds will be used to support the salary of a Cultural Heritage Language specialist, who will work with the Dorothy Ramon Learning Center and its publishing press, ‘Ushkana Press, to produce the volumes. The grant will provide direct benefit to the Morongo Band of Mission Indians.
