Log Number: NAB-252151-OLS-22

The Irene Ingle Public Library will purchase new computers to replace outdated equipment and renew their subscription to the Alaska Digital Library. Providing public computers to the community of Wrangell aligns with the library’s mission to offer free access “from within and from beyond the library’s own collection.” The computers are used by the public to access the internet to search for and apply for jobs, access government services and benefits, research health concerns, participate in higher education classes and testing, access email, and online banking, and pursue many other interests and learning opportunities. The library offers the only public access computers on the island and the community depends on them to continue to offer equipment that maximizes the speed of their internet connection. The project will provide direct benefit to all.
