Absentee Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma

The Absentee Shawnee Tribal Library will enhance services to the community by providing additional access to collections through a shared digital reading platform. The community’s need for online access to the library’s collections became apparent during the pandemic. The library will join the OK Virtual Library consortium to provide its patrons with greater access to digital titles, and it will upgrade outdated computers onsite by purchasing three new machines. Library staff will also continue assisting visitors with information requests, cataloging and maintaining collections, and coordinating with other tribal programs to preserve Absentee Shawnee Tribal culture.
