Chilkat Indian Village

The Chilkat Indian Village Library in Haines, Alaska, plans to expand its archival collection of tribal documents, photos, and audiovisual materials and make those materials more accessible to the public. Library staff will review resources currently in storage and catalogue them for possible inclusion in the library’s archival collection. The archivist will receive training on best practices for handling of archival resources. To enhance their skills in both general library work and archival work to better serve patrons, staff will receive additional training and participate in workshops and professional development opportunities such as the Alaska Library Association’s annual conference.
