Seminole Tribe of Florida
Log Number: MN-255914-OMS-24
The Seminole Tribe of Florida’s Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum will complete a cataloging and rehousing project for 16,000 photographs in its collection to make them searchable and accessible to the Seminole community. This project will fund a cataloging assistant who, along with the collections manager, will catalog the photographs into the museum’s collections management database, rehouse the photographs, shelve the newly housed and cataloged photographs, and add them to an online collections module. Once accessible, Tribal community members will be engaged to help provide information about the photographs such as names, places, and events. By documenting contemporary Seminole life and making it more accessible, this project will help preserve the culture and heritage of the Tribe.
