Rappahannock Tribe

Log Number: MN-255602-OMS-24

The Rappahannock Tribe will undergo a capacity-building project to enhance the Tribe’s ability to preserve and protect its cultural heritage. Project activities will include: increasing staff capacity by hiring a new museum generalist and providing professional development opportunities; increasing access by digitizing and cataloging the collection; developing interpretive and strategic plans for the archives, library, and museum; developing a virtual exhibit; and evaluating the care and management of collections by auditing paper records, conducting condition assessments on artifacts, and evaluating museum and library programs. This project will help Tribal citizens rebuild connections to their culture and ancestral home on the Rappahannock River and help the public better understand Tribal history and contemporary culture.
