Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians

The Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians will continue its planning efforts for a future Cultural Center and Museum by developing an Organizational Plan that addresses the governance, operations, and staffing needs for the museum. Project activities include engaging a professional museum consultant who will convene and coordinate an organizational committee comprised of Tribal staff, Tribal members, cultural practitioners, and organizational partners to develop the Organizational Plan. The resulting plan will be used to build the foundation of a museum that is sustainably operated, helping to ensure that it can successfully become a place of learning, preservation, and healing for the Tribe and the visiting public.
