Log Number: MN-253512-OMS-23
The Catawba Cultural Center, comprised of the Catawba Indian Nation’s museum, library, and archives, will design and implement a series of programs to promote the importance of preserving and celebrating traditional Catawba culture. Project activities include developing a summer reading program for Catawba children, launching a year-round cultural heritage programming schedule for Catawba community members of all ages, and purchasing necessary equipment, software, and supplies to digitize objects using 3D photogrammetry technology. Digitized objects will be made accessible online, allowing greater access for research and programming purposes while reducing physical handling, which will in turn support preservation efforts. This project will help build a foundation for lifelong learning, increase understanding of Catawba culture and heritage, and help preserve that heritage for the Catawba community.
