Kawaiahao Church
Log Number: MN-253052-OMS-23
Kawaiahaʻo Church, housed in the first Christian church built on Oʻahu, will hire an archivist to oversee the management of its Historical Sites and Archive Library as the church undertakes a mold remediation project. The archivist will help coordinate the relocation of the archival collection, oversee contractors performing mold remediation, and work with the project team to continue processing the collections through activities such as cataloging, digitization, and re-housing. They will also develop and implement archival collections management policies and procedures to support the long-term preservation and care of this historical collection. As a result, Native Hawaiians and the larger Hawaiʻi community will have increased access to important cultural and historical records, which will be better preserved for future generations.
