Bad River Band of Lake Superior Tribe of Chippewa Indians

The Bad River Band of Lake Superior Tribe of Chippewa Indians will initiate operations and collections management procedures to support the opening of its new Moka'aangiizis ("Rising Sun") Tribal Museum. The Tribe will hire a museum manager who will lead the museum through its grand opening, develop initial policies and procedures, and establish a volunteer visitor services program. Additional project activities will include the development of a collections database and the production of virtual museum resources, such as website updates, an online newsletter, and a virtual exhibit. Coupling these efforts with ongoing long-range planning will build and sustain professional museum activities and help establish the museum as a vibrant cultural center for the Bad River Band Tribal community and beyond.
