Native Village of Eyak

The Ilanka Cultural Center and Museum of the Native Village of Eyak will create high-definition 3D scans of 15 artifacts held in the Ilanka Museum and Cordova Museum collections. Building upon a previous project to create a virtual reality experience of a traditional village site, these artifacts will enable users to perform additional activities, such as canoeing, drumming, tracking, and gameplay. Tribal elders will contribute knowledge of traditional object use and serve as storytellers within the virtual reality experience. This preservation project will result in an immersive, short story experience of cultural activities for visitors, Tribal members, and youth participants.
