The Comanche Nation will use its grant to conduct a yearlong strategic planning project for the Comanche National Museum and Cultural Center. The strategic planning will include training, a community needs assessment, site visits and planning sessions, and implementation. With the conclusion of the project, the Comanche National Museum and Cultural Center will have a written strategic plan that will guide operations, collections, exhibitions, and programs for the next three to five years. The goal of the Taa Pue Makwitsoait (translated as Saving Our Culture) is to determine where the museum wants to be and how it will get there. The project will focus on four core groups (tribal, nontribal, military, and education) that are seen as the museum’s audience base.
