Poarch Band of Creek Indians

The Poarch Band of Creek Indians of Alabama will hire a consultant to work with the staff and governing authority of its Museum and Welcome Center to develop standard operating policies and procedures in accordance with American Association of Museum standards and best practices in order to enhance current museum services. Established policies and procedures are critical as the tribe completed construction of the new museum in October 2009. Through this process the team, along with the consultant, will develop a mission and vision statement, administrative policies and procedures, a museum code of ethics, and a collections management policy. The implementation of these protocols will aid the tribe in its goal to obtain AAM accreditation.
