Picayune Rancheria of the Chukchansi Indians

The Picayune Rancheria of Chukchansi Indians of California will conduct a feasibility study to develop and confirm its vision for a Museum and Cultural Center. The study will aid in determining the components necessary to establish and develop an implementation action plan and related outcomes and confirm a direction for a future facility. With guidance from an experienced tribal museum planner, the tribe will work with its community to develop potential themes and storylines, location options, existing program data pertaining to the tribe’s humanities collection, and budgetary options. A final report will be prepared, which will take into account all community input from project stakeholders, community meetings, and tribal council meetings, before final approval by tribal leadership.
