Pascua Yaqui Tribe of Arizona

Log Number: MN-03-09-0020-09

The Pasqua Yaqui Tribe of Arizona will plan and establish a strategic development process to support the tribe’s effort to preserve historical and cultural information. Project activities will include organizing and cataloging existing artifacts, cassettes, CDs and DVDs, transcripts, exhibits, and all items in the museum building. Staff will reach out to other communities (five pueblos in Arizona) to identify and encourage participation in collecting and preserving information to be stored and made readily available in each community, as well as shared with the main tribal museum. Staff will also identify elders from each community who are willing and available to share their stories, knowledge, teachings, and cultural information for ongoing history nights, traditional arts and crafts programs, and cultural education programs.
